High school Acheivements: Joy's Junoir year of Highschool she went to regional solo competition where she scored a 1, sending her to state competition where she also received high marks.   Dreams/Career Goals: Joy plans to go to college and get a degree in music. And later be a part of a ministry that will take her around the world.
Personal History
: Joy has lived in Mineola all of her life. Her educational background includes attending public, private and home schooling.    She has traveled the United States and Mexico and loves her hometown best.  Her friends are a big part of her life and says she couldn't live without them.  She lives each day as it comes and her motto is..."Love like you've never been hurt, give like you don't need the money and dance like nobody's watching."

Past Time: Tennis, Singing and Hanging out with my friends!!!!   Dream Vacation: I've always dreamed of going to a beautiful beach, somewhere like the Bahamas' or Hawaii.   Talent Entry: Singing  Early Achievements: Since I was abou5t the age of eight my mom put me in Girl Scouts.  High School Achievements: Mineola High School Choir Competition: 2002-second place, 2003 first place, and 2004 third place.  National Honor Society 2003-2004, Community services with my church; cleaning up elderly couples yards,  meals on wheels and singing at nursing homes.  Dreams/Career Goals: After I finish High School I'm going to enroll in Cosmetology School to get my license     and hopefully one day I have my own business in cosmetology.   Personal History: I was born and raised in Mineola, TX.  I moved to Houston in the seventh grade and no one  in my family except my older sister like the city.  We moved back to Mineola my eight-grade year and I have  been here ever since.

(Not directly) I often received awards for my grades. Which my older sister had a lot to do with that. In the third grade, I joined the girl scouts, which I started out as a brownie and worked my way up. I earned three patches. Junior High Achievements: In Middle school I also received many academic awards. Mainly in English and choir. My eighth grade year I was selected to participate in a summer reading program, which was a prerequisite for Pre-AP English I. That was also the year that was also the year I joined crime stoppers. I was a Tech in the school computer labs. I helped out the teacher and the students when they needed help.
High School Achievements:   My Freshman year I received an academic award in English I from Mrs. Quattlebaum and another my junior year.(this year.)  This year I also participated in Choir UIL Solo and Ensemble competition and received a I. The Highest rating.  Dreams/Career Goals: After I graduate High School I plan to attend a school for Massage therapy. In two years after my boyfriend graduates we plan on moving to California and settling down there. Ten years from now, I see myself in a beautiful home near the ocean with a husband and 1 child.   Personal History: I was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. When I was ten years old I moved to Texas with my mother. A year later I moved with my Grandparents who lived in Mesquite a the time. When I was 14, we moved to Mineola, TX where we now have been residing for almost 4 years.

Dreams/ career goals: Go to college to be a teacher for the deaf. Receive a minor in music so I can teach piano or Violin. 
Personal History:
Baptized at seven, I have been a member of Hainesville Baptist church eight years. Active in Hainesville Baptist youth, very involved in family activities such as church, camping and weekend dune buggy trips. Began playing piano in 3rd grade. Became interested in the violin in 6th grade. I was born in Tyler at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital and came home to Mineola. I was selected to represent Caring & Sharing on a Christmas float.  I have been invited to perform at Nursing Homes, School Talent Shows, Iron Horse and May Day Festivals, Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet, Lions Club Review and Rotary Club Talent Show. I performed in the Tyler Junior College "Nutcracker" from 1995  2001. I was a member of Dance Dimensions dance team and danced at a Dallas Cowboys game. I also performed at Fiesta Texas three years in a row. I was Junior Miss Texas 1996. After college graduation, I plan to become a kindergarten teacher, or a TV news anchor and one day host my own talk show. Personal history: I was born September 5, 1986 in Sulfur Springs, TX. I have  lived in Mineola my whole life. I have attended church my whole life and am a member at First Baptist Church of Mineola. I was saved at Discipleship Now on January 13, 2002. The things that are most important to me are my walk with Jesus Christ, family, and friends. I love being involved in the community.  Parents: David and Ilene Welch. Dreams and Career Goals: I want to attend McClellan Community College to receive my basics.  I also want to be a member of their renowned Dance Team.  After community college, I want to attend Texas A & M University in Bryan/College Station and receive a degree in elementary education and minor in dance.  I would also like to be an Aggie Dancer.  After college, I would like to dance professionally for a while.  Then, I would to teach at the elementary level and operate a dance studio in the evenings and during the summers.  Personal History:  I was born in Tyler, Texas.  My mom and dad have been married for 24 years this month.  I have an older brother, Travis, who is currently a Crew Chief in the United States Air Force.  He's stationed in Phoenix, Arizona.  My three grandparents still live in Mineola.  In fact, my mother's parents live right next door.  I'm passionate about dancing.  I'm the director of a competition dance team of young girls called "Lil' Rythym." I'm very proud of them because they have won 1st Place in Jazz, Hip Hop and Pom at Southwestern Teacher's Association's State Competition two years in a row.
